The Community Mixtape is a project by YearOfTheBlacksmith.com. The mixtape features various artists who are all common in one thing: they make good music. It is hosted by Talib Kweli and mixed by Mick Boogie, names which, for every hip hop fan, should automatically scream: QUALITY! And quality it is. So far I have mainly focused on publishing the latest hip hop mixtapes, but today I'm going introduce the very first free single song here on FreeMusic King. The name of the song is "Act Cool" and it is an incredibly chill song by artists Loveshadow and Marinella Mastrosimone.

This is rapper J. Cole's 3rd official mixtape, released officcially on 12 November 2010. Besides J. Cole's own, the voices of Wale, Omen, Drake, Kanye West, Pusha T, Big Sean and Cyhi Da Prince can be heard on the mixtape. Friday Night Lights is a long mixtape with a total of 20 tracks. It features rap music to hip hop fans with all tastes. From slow R'n'B-like tracks such as "Best Friend" and "In The Morning" to banging tracks like "Blow Up" and "Looking For Trouble." It is an especially sweet listening to anybody who enjoyed Kanye West's past producing style (a´la "The College Dropout" and "Late Registartion"). What I'm talking about is oldschool-like jazz/blues samples laid on heavy drums and bass. In my opinion, the best examples of that are catchy "Cost Me A Lot," "2Face," "You Got It," "Villematic" and "Enchanted," which also features Tupac's legendary Hail Mary chorus re-sung by J. Cole. Overall, it is a great mixtape- definitely one of the best of 2010. Get it!

The Compton rapper Spitfiya, who has gained fame thanks to his ability to rap extremely fast and rapidly, released his mixtape "The Brilliance" in 2010. It features fast raps, "new school" types of beats and an amazing intro. For real, it's a mixtape worth downloading even only because of that intro!

Quite possibly the best mixtape of 2010

Dead Prez released their Turn Off the Radio Vol. 4: Revolutionary But Gangsta Grillz mixtape on 22 June 2010. It features real rap verses spitted on the most popular beats of the mainstream artists. Songs like "Malcolm, Garvey, Huey," "Far From Over" and others are, in my eyes, far better than the original versions. The superficial, and sometimes plain pointless lyrics are exchanged with that revolutionary Dead Prez attittude, that real hip hop.
