This is rapper J. Cole's 3rd official mixtape, released officcially on 12 November 2010. Besides J. Cole's own, the voices of Wale, Omen, Drake, Kanye West, Pusha T, Big Sean and Cyhi Da Prince can be heard on the mixtape. Friday Night Lights is a long mixtape with a total of 20 tracks. It features rap music to hip hop fans with all tastes. From slow R'n'B-like tracks such as "Best Friend" and "In The Morning" to banging tracks like "Blow Up" and "Looking For Trouble." It is an especially sweet listening to anybody who enjoyed Kanye West's past producing style (a´la "The College Dropout" and "Late Registartion"). What I'm talking about is oldschool-like jazz/blues samples laid on heavy drums and bass. In my opinion, the best examples of that are catchy "Cost Me A Lot," "2Face," "You Got It," "Villematic" and "Enchanted," which also features Tupac's legendary Hail Mary chorus re-sung by J. Cole. Overall, it is a great mixtape- definitely one of the best of 2010. Get it!
